SYNOPSIS
“A guide to real-life locations associated with Agatha Christie, the best-selling author of all time, including those she visited, where she lived and where her stories unfold. Devotees may use the maps to plot itineraries, or simply to better understand the world Christie knew and the one she created. The guide includes key locations from Christie’s novels and stories, locations used in TV adaptations, as well as where she lived and worked.”
Welcome to Agatha Christie’s England! Have you ever asked yourself: Where exactly is St Mary Mead? What about the Cornish resort of “St Loo”?
With Agatha Christie’s England, I provide a map and a guide to the real life locations that appear in Christie’s fiction. I’ve scoured every novel and short story, as well as the Queen of Crime’s own life and autobiography, to find the most interesting places to include. As well as my writing, it includes period-inspired illustrations and a postcard, so that you can send a loved one your best wishes from somewhere you discover on your travels with the map. It is published by Herb Lester Associates, an independent publisher that produces lovely literary guides and gifts, and is now available to order directly at shedunnitshow.com/map.
I have also made an audiobook version of it, for those who really like to hear me talking about Agatha Christie. You can order the audiobook at shedunnitshow.com/audiomap.
Upon finishing this project, I dedicated an entire episode to the settings found within Christie’s books in June 2021. Listen to that episode here. A transcript of this episode is also available.
